Manchester United brings UNITED:LIVE to Beijing

• Manchester United Soccer School coaches to teach fans skills and drills
• Attended by Manchester United Ambassadors, Dwight Yorke and Denis Irwin

Manchester United legends Dwight Yorke and Denis Irwin will travel to Beijing, China to participate in UNITED:LIVE, a one-day event aimed at celebrating 'the beautiful game'.

Held on 26 April 2015 at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, the day’s activities will build up to a live screening of Everton vs Manchester United. During the screening, Yorke and Irwin will be on hand to share some stories of their time with the club, discuss what it takes to become a professional footballer, as well as offer pre- and post-match analysis.

Prior to the big game, coaches from Manchester United Soccer Schools will be demonstrating to local children how to play the United way. The session will see participants learn the same drills, skills and values taught professional players at the world-famous football club.

Manchester United's Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, comments:

"Manchester United has over 100 million followers in China and we are delighted to be able to bring UNITED:LIVE to Beijing. We have a long-standing relationship with China, dating back to 1975, and the passion and knowledge of our fans based there is always overwhelming.

"The club has a long history of investing in youth, with our Academy structure being replicated all over the world, and we hope that those lucky enough to be involved enjoy participating in the Manchester United Soccer Schools.

"Learning to play the United way is much more than learning how to kick a ball. It also educates participants on the importance of health and wellbeing, as well as the attitude needed to succeed, a legacy they can go on to use in everyday life."

UNITED:LIVE Beijing is free to attend and tickets can be applied for by visiting www.manutd.com/UNITEDLIVE. Applications will then be entered into a ballot, with successful applicants being notified by email prior to the event.

The ballot for UNITED:LIVE Beijing is now open and will close on 19 April. Applications received after this date may not be included in the ballot.
