Robin van Persie played for 62 minutes on his return from an ankle problem but Rafael and Adnan Januzaj sustained injuries during Manchester United Under-21s' 1-1 draw at Leicester City.
Van Persie, who was on the bench for the first team's defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, looked sharp and provided the assist for Sean Goss' equaliser. The striker also fulfilled his defensive duties and worked hard for Warren Joyce's side.
Rafael appeared to suffer a painful blow to the ribs and was withdrawn towards the end of the first half while Januzaj pulled up after chasing a ball down the right flank in the 54th minute and was unable to continue. Louis van Gaal will be anxiously seeking an update on both injuries ahead of Sunday's trip to Everton.
Meanwhile, Jonny Evans lasted the full 90 minutes on his return from suspension and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet when his header was brilliantly saved by Adam Smith.
