Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hailed this weekend’s fixture with Manchester United as "the game everybody wants to play in."
"To play against Manchester United is to play against one of the biggest clubs in the world,” the Portuguese boss told reporters. “I’m not worried about motivating my players to be focused on the game, because there is no need. It is an easy job. Everyone is excited to play.”
Mourinho also downplayed United’s injury list and talked up his relationship with Reds boss Louis Van Gaal. “Their squad is amazing, in numbers and quality," he added. "I sat down this week to analyse the opponents and I realise what they have.
“Van Gaal is a fantastic coach and they are more than ready. I consider him a big, big friend but because of jobs, fighting for the same objectives, we are not speaking every week. But the deep feelings towards a friend doesn’t change.”
Blues defender Gary Cahill, meanwhile, is relishing the tests his side face in upcoming games against United and Arsenal. “They’re good games, they’re mouth-watering games and everyone is looking forward to them.
“We’re taking steps, we want to keep the momentum going. We’re playing against an in-form United team but we’re playing at Stamford Bridge and they’re playing against a very good team. It should be a great game."
