Louis van Gaal has explained the nature of the injuries that forced Phil Jones and Daley Blind out of Manchester United's 3-1 win over Burnley during the first half.
Jones suffered an early knee injury and was replaced by Chris Smalling on five minutes, with his fellow England international scoring with his first touch and netting another header just before half-time.
Blind sustained a knock to the head in an aerial challenge in the first period and tried manfully to continue after going off the pitch to receive stitches to a wound near his left eye, but had to be replaced by Ander Herrera on 39 minutes.
"I think, for Jones, we have to wait and see," explained the manager to MUTV. "I think it shall be difficult as he was very disappointed when I spoke with him. Maybe it's a knee problem so it's not good.
"Blind has a headache but I don't think he is out of the game on Monday [in the FA Cup against Preston North End]."
